About	Having world population around 550-600, "Derya" is one of the last Mediterranean monk seals (Monachus monachus) on earth. Oserved in the wild in one of the island in Turkish Aegean waters, this 1 week pup is now 10 years old and surviving. Monachus or monk refers "alone or solitary". And, the individuals of this species prefer to be alone... for survival...
