Hi Janelle, thanks for the comments. The photo is of a gull fledging trying to grab food from its parent. It is also a cropped version in an attempt to ad some movement and action (with an 8mp camera on RAW or TIFF mode it is easy to get quality out of a cropped image). What you don?t see on the image are the other gulls surrounding them. The photo is, in fact, part of ?feeding frenzy, with many birds vying for the same morsel of food. I used the Nikon Coolpix 1.5x tele lens and the shot was taken from the lake?s shoreline (Lyn Pardon in Llanberis, North Wales). My son was feeding the ducks at the time when the gulls muscled in, every piece of food that went in resulted in a mass brawl, so it really wasn?t all that difficult to eventually get the result I wanted. I'm going to upload a second shot sometime tomorrow to show the wider view.
