About	1995 was the year I bought the Spotmatic and this picture is from one of the inaugural rolls. The castle was remarkably calm and beautiful at 9am.

Hi Mary Sue; the dark patch is a flight of stairs. I think it was the scan because my jpeg seems fine and the stairs are visible.

Interesting composition on this, Alexa. On my monitor the image is a bit soft and dark, but not sure if it is just the scan. What is that dark shape on the left near the back wall?
