About	I think this shot was taken last summer of one of my mum's passion flowers; she wanted a permanent record of them. I've done a little tweaking in PS but nothing drastic.

Beautiful shot Ian, the colors and detail are amazing, I dont think I have seen this flower before, but you have captured it perfectly....

The focus is spot on in this shot Ian, and the depth of field really brings out the flower's centre. The flower itself is covered by very few shadows which is great considering all the foliage around.
In answer to your question about lying down, no i don't. I just use the screen on the back to judge and take quite a few shots to get something right! and no i didn't use a spray - those drops were already there.
