I don't mind so much the window, it was rather the light on his cap (and also on the hair behind his ear) that caught my attention - the sudden transformation from black to lighter grey. So, my suggestion would be to keep the original window in the corner but burn in the side of the cap and the hair a little bit to lower the contrast.

Thank you for your comments Matej, they are greatly appreciated. The point I was making in the comment about the crop, was that it is what it is...I could only go tighter. The light appears to be another window. There is a solid wall with a window behind him. I have another shot without him standing there. It did kind of stand out, so I cloned in some of the lighter colors from the garage door. Oh, thank you for mentioning your choice of color or B&W. Please let me know what you think of the repost. Thank you. Carla

Firstly, I agree with Paul about the crop, I don't think there's any real need to go closer in. Secondly, don't desaturate the photo, the man works with colour paints so let it be a colour photo. Partial desaturations look artificial/fake, and fake is surely not the message that he would like to send to his customers. Thirdly, check out the upper left corner, the light is rather strange there.

Thank you Paul, what I will do with the frame not use it on the actual image, but find mat-board in this color and use that as a 1/4 inch boarder, with a larger mat probably in black. Thank you so much for your input. I am working on the desaturation now, I would like a males perspective as I do want him to be comfortable witht the photo, it is for his shop - customer area.

I wouldn't crop it any tighter I think, it look fine as it is. I would also leave the frame, it's simple and works well as it's a complimentary colour - you've done well with it Carla.
