jeff, this is a very, very nice shot. you got very lucky when that sunlight poked through the clouds as it gave you an outstanding photo! i dont think the shot is oversaturated, but then again, that's all in the eye of the beholder.
warmest regards ~ james

I could tell it was the lake district even before clicking on the thumbnail, such a beautiful area! I've posted a number of photos from the area but none so good as this, such a lovely capture of the area's beauty. I don't feel the saturation is a problem, just that it emphasises the autumnal colours which is what the shot is about.

Hugo - thanks for your comments and critique - I am still a novice at editing and you may be right about the oversaturation - but hopefully I will get the balance right - I have a long way to go to catch up with the excellent standard of work that you produce - your portfolio is truly amazing and inspirational - I particularly liked this shot - it is though the man and the reeds have become one........ Regards Jeff

Hi Jeff, very bright tones, maybe a tad oversaturated, but not less appealing. A beautiful day, and a beautiful shot. Good job.
Cheers,
Hugo

Roberto - thanks for your comments - the hills in the background are covered with a mixture or rocks and 'bracken' (a type of fern which dies back to a brown colour during autumn time) and which appear in blocks on the distant landscape. however, it may also be that the downsizing of the original image has caused these particular pixels in the photograph to flatten out, which may be the reason why they look this way? - Regards Jeff

Thanks Melanie - the picture is heavily cropped as the foreground was just a gras field with no interest. I also gave the photo some contrast editing in Roxio (which is not a bad little programme to learn on) to help the colours stand out. Thanks again - Jeff
