Dear Karen, first of all thank you very much for your friendly comment. This photo was taken 14 years ago in 1990, dec 31 (new year!). I'm very glad you liked this one because despite his very poorly conditions at that time this kid was kind enough to smile at me and I've learned something from him that day. Sorry for my poor english and thank you again for visiting my portfolio. :-)

This is hard for me to look at. It is time to pay bills and we always manage but there is not alot of extras. No vacations on the beach for us. We rarely eat out. I sit in my home with my TV on, wondering through photos on the internet. I come across a boy sitting close to his sister. Protecting her as she sleeps on the street. The boy has a nice smile on his face despite his circumstances. Honesty in his eyes. I want to rescue them. Take them in, feed them, keep them warm and safe. He makes me realize I should be thankful. I have never slept on the street. I have never gone to bed hungry and I have always been clothed. My children go to school, play sports and conquer bad guys on playstation. Their biggest problem is how to talk Mommy out of a dollar for the icecream man. Mine is saving money for a down payment on a house.
Thank you for sharing this and in perfect timing with our US holiday of Thanksgiving coming up next week. Let us all remember to be Thankful for what we have!

Regardless of what you call imperfections this is a great photo, the look of joy on this childs face, maybe because he was noticed and the sense of closness of the two children. Great composition and beautiful capture. Alison
