To you I owe endless thank yous Brenzef. :) I am one very fond of strong critics such as yours. I never thought that I would know everything. And fear not, crappy pictures shall not be taken by me (well, not too crappy) much longer. I've been working my tail off for the money to get a better camera. As far as coming to the Netherlands...as surprising as it is, I've been looking into that since last year. I'm one of those people who is very interested in my heritage and I happen to be mostly Dutch. Haha, maybe you'll have to show me places worthy of taking pictures. Anyhow, take care and again, thank you so very much for your helpful critiques.

Pictures taken with a toy camera are most of the time a faillure. The lens is mostly made from excellent (recycled) popbottle plastic and much effort is undertaken to make it as bad as possible. A good lens is made of glas, period.
You will see, when you make a photo with a "real" camera, the picture quality will improve very much. Also you are able to control the photo look with aparture, shutter and sharpness settings, and it is easyer for others to give good critics.
A "real" camera is not that expensive. Here in Europe you buy a camera for 50-150 euro with lens. I bought an N70 with 28-70 lens for 180 euro. And some time ago i bought a Nikon FE for 150 with a 50mm 1.8 lens. Both makes great photo's. Dunno the price in the USA, but probably lower.
Anyway, to get good critics and not the "straight from the heart" comments (that might sound unpleasant) you probably need to post another type of photo. Although you will get responses like: Great composition, good balance, these comments do not improve your photographic talents. They are made by people that want to be nice, even is your photo is crappy.
I seldom give these responses since they are not really critics (to me) (and i don't want to be nice all the time :-).) Some people are not able of giving "real" critics and some are not able to receive them.
Well the comment length shows me that i typed 1400whatever characters and that should be enough.
So if you ever come to Europe (The Netherlands) drop me a line and i'll show you around, but you must show me the piccies taken :-).
Have fun.

Heh. Well, you see...I'm a first semester student to a photography class at school. And since it's required to put in information about the camera, I just put anything in since I haven't looked into it. I used to have a "real" camera, but unfortunately a family member broke it :( I'll take your suggestions with gratefulness and hopefully when I get a chance to shoot with a "real" camera again it'll be of better quality. Thanks again.

Since you have your own darkroom you probably know what you can improve. This image lacks about everything you would expect from a image. The image quality probably cannot improved due to the optics and toy camera construction. Anyway, Try to improve sharpness, contrast, lighting and composition. It's probably due to the (highperformance) popbottle plastic lens. :-) Use a "real" camera to improve quality. btw. a shutterspeed of 1/3000 for a toy camera?

It's a toy picture. No sharpness, no detail, wrong lighting. A better title would be: A waste of bytes.

Becca, Great! Excellent, light and contrast. Love the focus. It's nice to see someone actually in the darkroom! Roy
