Have to add my two cents and say I prefer the other version. This image looks "cropped" as opposed to "composed". Cropping the foreground changed the balance for me. The presence of the fence in the other one didn't bother me as I just took it as part of the view of the lake. It's a very pretty lake; where is it located?

The light is absolutely wonderful. I really like that stroke of lighting striking the hills. The combination of light and shadow is very dramatic. The clouds are nice, as well as their reflection.

After seeing the original, I'd much prefer having that nice foreground there. It leads the eyes into the shot. Maybe you can try to clone out the car window (?).
