very powerful photo. The poses, the way they hold each other. I'm sure the black and white shirt was intentional.

Brilliant Cheryl. A very nice addition to your portfolio. Nice use of light and shadow, so powerful and deep. Nicely composed, good light, and very nicely executed. I too can sense the bond between the two. ( Hopefully one that will continue to grow.) Great work once again.

There is a certain quality to all your pictures that I find hard to describe in words, Cheryl. Probably this is due to the fact that great pictures are to be enjoyed with the eyes and not with words. I can feel a bond between these two beauties. Marília

Fascinating. My first response to your title was to get ready to rant about all the OVER-protective parents we've encountered raising our daughter (now 12). Since the parents don't extend them any trust, the kids behave accordingly. But I see this is very different. It seems Katie is lucky. --Jim

Your work is always so wonderfully expressive, Cheryl, and this one is no exception. Beautiful light, and so well rendered on each face. Nicely done!

Thank you for the comments. This location does get wonderful natural light. This family was wonderfully expressive, which always makes it easier.

Jim, thanks! I really love what I do, and I'm always glad to hear that the passion is coming through.

very effective double portrait....obviously it is twice as hard to get a photo with good expressions and emotional appeal when there are two faces. interesting light from wherever this spot was....very fine work.
