Lovely! I could have taken the same photo in western PA on the same evening, only my photo would have had hundreds of vicious little possum eyes along the bottom. Damn you New Yorkers and your sub-par transformers.

Your horizon is not straight and I would like to see a better dof. I haven't checked out your stuff lately and when I did this one made me laugh way too much. I guess you should have stayed in Wisconsin! I have an old fuddy-duddy aunt from Ohio who was in NYC the night the lights went out on Broadway, she never goes anywhere and was supposed to see Phantom of the Opera. From the news it seemed that everyone pulled together, what else could they do? It was amazing to see everyone just strolling home down the streets and over the bridge. This is a hoot!

The lights are back on in CT... and so are the tolls. Hope that's from the blackout and not your Coolpix :) Have a great trip, Dude.

This must be the magic of photography...I mean how did you manage to upload this one. I see you have a low rating in composition etc. But you did quite well under the circumstances. :)

do you know chaos theory? the butterfly's wing producing a hurricane: only a wink in the right place at the right time is sufficent :) exactly the same seems to have happened yesterday: maybe it was you, uploading a pic ... the drop which initiated overflow and final breakdown : in former times more pious believers in the usa would have seen in it god's punishment for america's willful destruction of baghdad's power plants : eye for eye, bulb for bulb very black, your pic, by the way :)

Could be in better focus, and use of a fill-in flash would also help.
Good luck - hope the power comes back soon.
