Just an absolutely super shot. The clarity is amazing. Your angle is perfect as is the DOF. It really looks like it should be in a magazine for bird watching! Thank you for your help with my flower picture "Alone." I am going to try your suggestion. Others had suggested changing the color profile, but I hadn't thought about how I view it in photoshop. Do you like your VR lens? I am looking at the 80-200 VR with the silent wave. (I have a D100 also.) Any input would be great. Thanks again and SUPER JOB!

beautifully captured hand held shot.. perfect aperture settings and great angle. birds are tricky to capture as they are so jumpy. you are using a 200mm so i assume u had to get a little closer.

Nancy, I think the bird is an immature male "Scissor-Tailed Flycatcher." Adult males would have an even longer tail, and brighter coloring.

Great handheld shot, Nancy! In order to determine species, it would help to know your geographical whereabouts? Somehow it strikes me as a "Flycatcher" of some kind, that I've seen in my "Field Guide to Western Birds," but I don't know for sure.
