hmmm Derry, I see the little strange things on this picture as well. The lighting will make all the difference - there is some great potential here.

Thanks for the comments. I think what you are saying is that scene and the composition are maybe okay, but the lighting is not good and perhaps I should wait until sunset or closer to sunset.
The picture was taken at about 5:30pm which would be about an hour and a half before sunset. I'll have to go back out with some Velvia and setup for shots around sunset.

I agree with Tony. The scene is nice, but the light does not do this place justice. I think, for the rest, it's a nice picture.

What time of day did you shoot this? If there is always a fire when you go there I bet you could work this to your advantage. I would imagine the sunsets around this lake are magnificent. Other than that I would try and shoot also around sunrise. -- Tony

Maybe it's just me, but I see a horizontal line about 2/3's the way up the picture and some sort of checkerbox dohicky on the left side in the top of one of the trees on the far side of the lake. These artifacts do not appear in the file on my hard drive. Strange.
