About ok the exposure could be a lot better... and the angle and stuff I know... but tell you the truth I shot this from my hip... it was at a concert and the gurls didn't want their picture taken... it's not a posed picture they were just sitting like that at the moment I took the picture and it turned out I think really good too bad the quality's really bad

i love the idea of the composition. almost a battle of lifestyles if you will. one is smoking and blowing her smoke out looking @ the other female like what the hell is she doing as the other one is in a dream world almost suggestively with the way shes looking up. i really dig the idea on this.

Matthew, This is a cool shot. I've seen people work a lot harder to get a lesser image. As Mary said, maybe a slightly different crop would improve it even more. Cool.

PS. I love your self portrait too. I tried one of me but you're better looking.. Damn you lol :)

Don't put yourself down so much Matthew, this is a great candid moment and given the fact that it was bloody dark its come out really well. The title makes it, you've got a steady hand and a nice eye.

You could try using photoshop to fix the image up. but good catch i still get alot of emotions from the subjects.

Here in North Dakota... Nope don't have anything really to do... but yeah I explain a lot that way people can give me a good critique of my work I figure the more they know the better they can judge it... I'm mostly here for the knowledge.

Matthew,

I think that perhaps you explain too much and sell yourself short - this is a wonderful shot - I wouldn't want the lighting different - the darkness is suggestive and the light that does exist has a warm tone...

I would crop a bit more from the bottom and the right...

btw you don't have much to do, do you? North Dakota!!

Good job considering the situation; the mood is great and leaved the viewer in thought! I think that the light could have been a tad brighter but the darkness adds to the atmosphere. Congrats on a another good capture.
