very fine composition! i like the mood and the mystical atmosphere. i prefer the original version, because there's more depth in the photo, the crop seems more two-dimensional for me.

Ah yes, I see what you mean, Joggie. I thought about cropping out a bit on the right side, but I never considered taking out some of the sky. I´m not certain though which version I prefer maybe because I was out there and therefore see sth. else- the danger of it, I know:-) Having had an experience that is connected with most senses that the spectator can´t relate to.
I trust your version for that same reason!:-)

Hi Annemette - a wonderful image with lots of atmosphere. I do think though that with some cropping one can improve it still - I attach a quick crop I did. Hope you dont mind - for me the strength of the photo lies in the line created by the posts in the foreground leading to the row of trees. The large expanse of featureless mist dilute the impact imo. Even without a closer crop I like it very much - great work!
