About The snow melted a few days ago and a number of patches revealed acorns (and other evidence) that the squirrels were busy feasting in my back yard.
Here is an example of one eaten and one untouched taking root.
Cropped and converted to duo-tone.
It snowed again today so the evidence is buried again but I will look for the buffet area after the next melt.

So true, Sam. The little guys can be annoying but they do good works and they sure are cute.

this proves once again that squirrels are the biggest tree planters in nature.

Onie -- OY!!!!! (for the puns) and thanks for the comments. I like playing with duo-tone and tri-tone; it produces some interesting results.

LOL... Jan, was going to suggest if you are going to hang it in the loo, use a chain...~~GRIN~~... But now you two have teamed up and progressed to taping it up in the Louvre, I'm sure the patrons will go nuts over it & you'll be flushed with success...;D)))

The duo-tone works great... A simple, effective composition... and loads of fun... :)))

Onie...

Well, Nessa, I am not so sure about "lucky" being the right way to describe the return of the snow. But since your weather is so much different I will forgive that remark. :) :)
Thanks for the comments; I truly appreciate them.
--Best to you, Jan

Mel -- The idea of a series is a good one; I will have to think about how many ways I can present acorns. Hmmmm....the possibilities are endless.

The series will be entitled "Da Acorn Code" AKA "Jan goes to Jail While Doyle Takes Pictures". I think we can pitch the idea to the Discovery Channel.

You have such refined sensibilities, Doyle. The other acorn shot is a masterpiece. Some day it will hang in the Loo......I mean Louvre.
Thanks for viewing!

Michele -- Thanks so much; I like the duo-tone technique, too. Especially since you can pretty much pick your own color blend. Thanks again!

I really like this tone -- 'duo-tone' ? It is rich, and high contrast showing details all the more . Interesting light , and well composed. I find it a pleasure to view...
Love the title too !! Very appropriate !

Best wishes,
michele~

Thanks, Joe. Mighty oaks from little acorns grow. But not in the middle of my backyard. I will remove the tiny trees in the Spring.
