I like the tighter crop. The space for "swinging" back is certainly an interesting way of setting up the image. Nicely done. The look on the young girl's face is what really sets this photograph off. Its like she is dreaming of actually flying up in the sky some day. Having been up there, I can understand that look very much.

Thanks for the honest critique. I totally agree. Actually in the original neg you can see the back of her and the swing, but when I scan the neg rather than the print I can't seem to get the color balance to look right. So I settled for using the print because I was so frustrated with the color. I will keep working on it and try to repost the image as it was taken and not cropped for printing.

Aside from the subject which is really nice, the foto could be a lot better. For example, if you shot this from a different angle to include the whole of the girl. I like how you've left empty space on the right so that she can "swing into it". But you are certanly right - the feeling really shows.
