actually gary, the western media paid a lot of attention to the destruction of these buddhas. it was one of the last things the taliban were able to get away with. a shame such treasures were destroyed with no regard for historical value.

The mentality behind this wanton destruction makes me despair for the human race..thanks for showing us a little of something which was given scant attention by the Western media..and for doing it so well.
