About Taken at the \"Pennsylvania-National Aviary, Pittsburgh\"

The Bali Mynah has pure white plumage set off by jet black tail and
wing-tips.

Critically endangered: With only about 8 left in the wild (year 2000),
this Mynah is one of the rarest birds in the world. The birds\' current range
is limited to a small section of Bali Barat National Park in northwestern
Bali.
Their survival is threatened by habitat destruction. Capture for the pet
trade
is another reason for the mynah\'s dwindling population. The Aviary
participates
in the Species Survival Plan of the Bali Mynah.

Thanks Surajit, for the preview of what you was saying. and now that i see it. I have to agree with you.
yes the white highlight around the head area can be distracting.......! I think i will end up rescaning this one and make some adjustments/improvments and crop the sides a bit as well.

The hilight at the back is disturbing. Otherwise it's a nice picture.

Thanks steve, I agree it would be better with the rule of thirds, and also vertical.....will have to remember that on future shot of this type.............. Thanks for the tips........: )

Hi Keith, Nice focus and sharpness on this critically endangered bird. I think this photo would really be stronger if the bird was a little more to the right (rule of thirds would apply here). It's just too much in the center here. Also because of the way the branches flow, a vertical shot might work as well. Just one man's opinion on a nice shot. Thanks for sharing. Steve.
