Thanks for your warm welcome, Shirley! :)
I recall so well buying my Sony - I was so pleased with it! A whole 3.3 MP and no film costs... Mind you, that didn't stop me swapping to the 5 MP Coolpix 5700 about a year later. ;) I really like that camera, even now I've bought the D70S. It's not quite small enough (okay - nowhere near small enough) to fit into a pocket, but I can't see me getting rid of it for some time yet. It's always good to have a spare, just in case. :) Take care, SQirl

I like this shot - it's super!! Also great to welcome someone here who has an obvious sense of humour!! Welcome welcome :) I had 1.2MP Sony before my Canon - battled so with the resolution quality when uploading and printing - and the amazing part is that I was so happy with it when I first got it and for years after - technology should stand still for a while. Cheers Shirley

Thanks for your comment, Gil! :) Yes, I agree that the tree on the left is a bit overwhelming, though I liked the zigzag effect it created with the shoreline on the other side of the image. Maybe I could try toning down the colour, or something.

This photo has a very painterly feeling about it that I like. I do find that the tree branches on the left are a bit too strong, interfering with my seeing the main subject. Thanks for your comments on my photos, Regards Gil

Hi Janet,
Thanks for your kind words! Yes, the tranquillity of the scene is one of my main reasons for liking this photo, even though technically it's not perfect. I tried cloning out the boats as Terry suggested, and he was right - it does improve the shot quite a bit.
This is a great site! There's so much to learn from all you guys. I'm looking forward to my time here. :)
Hello Yoshiyuki, thanks for your kind comment too! Don't adjust your computer. :) I took this shot with a 3 MP camera and reduced the image size for posting on another site. So it's been resaved a couple of times - in JPG format. :( I'm hoping to buy a Nikon D70s very soon, so that should counter the technical limitations of my old cameras. ;)
Thanks again, both of you, for taking the time to comment on my photo. :)

Beautiful composition, very peaceful atmosphere! Though, a little bit washed out colours (?)Or just a touch out of focus? Sorry, it might be my computer! Regards, YT

Now you mention it, there was a helicopter circling the area that day. I should've radioed them to see whether they could help. Hm.
You want burds? We got burds. Just pop over to my image from a couple of days ago and take some of those. There's plenty in there, nobody will miss a few. :)

Maybe if you used a Rocket Launcher, they'd clear the field. The shot could really use some Burds. Hehe! ;)

Well, I did ask them to move out of the shot, but they just ignored me. How rude is that?!
I got some pics of the cliffs without the boats too, but unfortunately they're without anything else either - they're pretty boring. And the trouble with all the shots in this series is that the Sony really does show its limitations on these landscape shots.
But still. At least there are no birds in this pic. :)

I like this shot. But I think it could do without the Boats.
