The scanner I use is really poor, unfortunately, and it enhances the vignetting of my photos very much, I think because of light diffusion inside the scanner...a bit of vignetting is really present on the photo anyway, but I had no reflex camera in 2001 so I had no way to control the vignetting by setting a smaller aperture.

A bit later, yes... Besides that, there is also a kind of strange vignetting, and the picture is surprisingly bright at the center-top area... Not sure why. Finally, the composition seems to work a tad better if you crop a cm at the top. Overall, average imo. We all have seen so many fantastic sand shots, that it becomes tough to compete! :-) Regards.
This is a nice shot, very good texture. Maybe later in the afternoon would be better. You would get nice long shadows to add conrast. Wells done. Rrichard
