I use a 550ex speedlight with a home made diffuser that always works a treat.

Ryan, I am assuming you used a flash in order to get enough light for f16. The light factor,(or lack thereof) is most challenging for me in insect macro work. Do you use the built in flash, or an attatchment?

Thanks Angelo, This was with 68mm of extension (kenko extension tubes) on a 50mm lens.
