About: In the early 70's my Granddad gave me his old Kodak 110 Pocket Camera to play with around the farm. His intention was for me to "pretend" that I was taking pictures of cows, pigs, goats, the hired-hands, field work and life around the farm. Little did he know that shortly afterward my Grandma started buying me film so that I could develop my love of taking pictures. After a short time I'm sure they were both asking themselves what they'd done. I was either getting in the way by snapping shots of the men working in the field and with the livestock or running off to take pictures in remote corners of the 500 acre spread plus asking for more film. I had an insatiable appetite.
Since spending time with my Grandparents on the farm a few things have changed. The 110 has been replaced several times over and I'm currently using a Canon D10. The film has been replaced with CompactFlash so my time behind the lens is almost limitless. The ability to take several hundred photos in a single shoot and get results back instantly instead of waiting weeks for my 110 cartridge of 24 exposures to return to the drugstore is true nirvana. Over the years my photographic tastes have narrowed to nature, landscape and candid shots. Being outside with nature is very euphoric. I have one other area that I'd like to develop and I'm currently in the early planing stages of traveling down that new avenue. Stay tuned!
Please take a moment to look at my work and provide suggestions for improvement. I've been taking pictures for a lifetime and still consider myself a student.
Keep it sharp. Jim
