Thnaks for the feedback. I will post the second image in a few days. I felt indecisive about which to post. I can also see the merit in the centred image - as you did. Eb

Oh yes definitely a much nicer composition. I didn't realise you had more shots of this same subject. In this image we can see the lighthouse in its entirety as well as the accompanying outbuildings associated with the lighthouse. You still have the full boat in view and you can see more of the dramatic rock wall. All the wonderful elements in this iamge are further enhanced by this alternative 2nd photo you've posted. I would make that image larger and repost it. This one has a wonderful composition. Well seen and captured. Nice work.
Cheers - Ann :)

Yes I did see those on the rock and I meant to comment on them too but I got caught up with thoughts of sailing and forgot. I used to sail often and I got melancholy when I saw your image. With the sailboat moving you can't plan a shot like this. You just have to capture the moment when you can so as far as centralising the boat. It's not often possible with sailing shots so don't demand too much of yourself there. It's a great and moody image.

Ann, I am pleased that you liked the image. There are a lot of interesting elements in the photo. If you look closely you can see the Cormorants hanging from the rock. Perhaps the centered sailboat is not as dramatic an effect? Eb

I just love sailing images. I can't understand why nobody has commented on this one. I just found it through browsing the pages. This is quite the scene against a rock wall background and with the lighthouse in the image. It also looks like a foggy shot which adds to the mood of serenity in sailing. Nice shot Eb.
Cheers - Ann :)
