Good example of when to center your subject. The B/W tone suits the image well. One of the strong shots of the series. Enjoyed seeing some of your work.It seems clear to me that you have passion about your work,so I would just suggest to ask yourself if that passion is conveyed in each image. Can I give my image impact by a crop,or a rotation,or a toning? Will visit again,Mark. best, kim

Appreciate your talk with Manu. In my opinion this picture is correct as it is now. It show enough the context and it is focused on the expression of the boy. The tones are well balanced and the backgroud is perfect. Regards

I like the composition, the bigger crop gives you a much better feeling of atmosphere, love the gaze and expression of the boy. Great!

Hi Mark, the boy's eyes hold my attention as well. I also like how his face is in front of the only white in the middle of the picture. When I look at it my eyes always go back to the center and the boys eyes. Very well done. Chris

Fair comment Manu and thanks for your honest thoughts it is appreciated. I find the eyes of the boy enough to hold my attention.
I have a presentation to give to the exhibition team at the museum tomorrow it will be interesting and nerve wrecking to hear their thoughts on my images.
Thanks again for all your comments and for looking.

Good answer, Mark.
My only nit-pick is that whilst I totally understand what you are saying I can't help finding the top right white area a tad distracting. I know it's all out of focus etc. but it draws my eyes away from the boys face. Maybe I'm looking at it for too long?
Cheers

Hi Manu
Yeah I do like the composition of this shot.
I could have framed the young boy much tighter. Presented as it is it put it a bit more in context. Although out of focus it is clear that there are other children in the background. I also like the way that I have caught the gaze of only the young boy while everyone else is looking straight ahead. The acknowlegement of the camera by the young boy adds to the dynamics of the image.
What do you think of the composition
Thanks for the comments mate
Mark
