George, thank you for the suggested crop. This was one of my very first photos that I posted and I am (thanks to everyone on this site) learning more about composition and such. Wonderful shot. Brown pelicans are great subjects--often comic, occasionally graceful, always photogenic. I think you gave him too much space, though. Hope you don't mind the suggested crop. Also--if you post larger images, they will be much more effective. The limit is 800; this one is only 507. I do get to shoot a few pelicans, but Darlene Boucher (another French name!) and Marcus Armani are the best birders on UseFilm. They certainly inspire me. Through ancestry yes. Family name originates from Alsace Lorraine (spelling?). That is all I know of my family name. Thank you for the comment. I am new to photography and have so much to learn.
