I think I know what you mean Don, well to me it's started to look like the coloured bit in the foreground is stuck on from a magazine kind-of-thing, hmmm....anyway I for some reason enjoy your critisisms (Okay, and the complimentary bits of your comments as well!), probably 'cause of your modesty in saying them, but you should trust your instinct because even if what I was doing was some sort of cool sticking-out technique, if it doesn't look right, it's not good. Thanks heaps Don.

Struth! another great photo mate!! and another clever title :) I agree with Jara a little, there is something small about the edges, not really sure what it is, but the colour seems to stick out too much kinda thing? haha but again I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about :P
Your editing work is amazing and you've again achieved a stunning result, congrats!

I knew you would get such a great response with this shot, your photoshop skills are growing in confidence ;) I can sort of see the imperfections that you speak of, but they are have such a low level of signifance that only one with impossible standards would choose the alternative opinion. I regress, what imperfections?
Anyways, once you have enough time to truly show your skills I'm sure you'll upload a piece which I'll love more than this :)

Aye, you did a fine job of the selective desat, the colours in contrast to the B+W is lovely. I like the mysteriousness of the flower, what it could be and how the end result was achieved. Good stuff :-)
