A Gitzo Explorer tripod, not the carbon fiber though. Thought it would come in handy with Macro studies, with the center post that can be rotated quite a lot. So far so good :-) Never thought a tripod would change the way you look at things so much. Dark skies, so what :-)

ha, very clever. I was wondering what 'star' you were talking about-from the thumbnail i thought it was the moon! Liken that tripod are ya? Which one did you end up getting?
