Steen: These and your butterflies are truly awesome. How wonderful that you have them to photograph.

Thanks for your comment. When you use a macro-lens and get close to the object, you can't make the object 100% sharp. Even with a difference in the shape of 1 mm int this case from the wings to the body, some part of the object will start to become more unsharp. That's the way the lens is build. That's the reason that macro photos are difficult to make. If the lens was not build that way, it would not be possible to make that background. Don't compare the function "macro" on a camera with use of a macro-lens.

First of all, I must say: whoh, what a beautiful shot, but perhaps it would be better if the whole dragonfly was sharp.

Fantastic capture. Great focus and DOF, and I love the way the photo is composed. Well done 7+ :)

Thanks for your comment Mervo. It's end of the season for dragonflies now. In this area in Sai Kung we should have about 15 species of dragonflies. This red on is always very difficult to capture because of the light. The red colour can change on the photos depends on the sunlight and the background.

Stunning colours, and such a nice shape in comparison to our UK dragonflies, this ones wings are so sharp and pointed. Excellent macro.
