Thanks, Carlos.
It was with an rectilinear ultra-wide angle lens...

Wow - from the thumbnail, I thought it was some weird sea creature dragging itself onto the sand and leaving a trail behind it! This is beautifully clear and sharp and the colours are wonderful.

Thanks, Dev - possibly too much detail in the net - making it cluttered. Pixelation often occurs if the viewing resolution can't display the detail smoothly - possibly if the monitor resolution is too low or if the image was reduced is size too far to show the information properly (and needs to be enlarged), and can be more obvious if the sharpness level is high... I will keep the issue of sharpness in mind when processing photos in the future...

Lovely landscape photo. Nice colors and an evident depth.IMHO, the fish trap and it's shadow looks a bit cluttered in the foreground and also a bit of pixellation around the same area. just my personal view, nothing to take away from a lovely landscape.
Cheers Dev

Brian exactly my point - I have been living in JHB for too long and the total materialism is becoming too much to bear. I would like to get one of those people who build a family home of 500square meters to explain "what for?" So on the same page here...

Thanks Tjaart. Yes, its a shame to see our land being destroyed. This small fishtrap is just the tip of the iceburg as far as destruction goes on our coastlines. Behind me, beautiful natural coatline has been very much more destoyed by all the "weekend houses" being built. I have being considdering doing a series for the wild life magazine to raise public awareness for people not to destoy beautiful coastline like this by building unnecessary huge, semi-redundant houses all over it. Thanks for the input, and seeing more of the bigger picture. Bryan

Great composition with very nice clouds and crisp colours. Well done Bryan. Joggie
I would love another photo taken from a spot slightly to the left without the trap (I'm almost sure you took it judging on your others in this great series!)

Very nice work Brian - lovely series of Brittania . However imho I do not like to be reminded of the debris we humans leave behind seemingly where-ever we go...

Used a tripod and ISO100. At ISO 100, there is very little difference between the 20D and 10D (99% of my shots are at ISO100). All you really need to do is get a good wide lens and a good polarizer. Tamron and Sigma make similar ones to the 10-22mm that are virtually as good, and it should work out a lot cheaper that way. Of course if you have the spare cash, its always fun to have the latest and greatest. Of course, it also helps to have the right subjects to photograph ;-)

the wide angle effect on the sky is very effective and very neat image too; clear and vivid and real color

You really are making me scratch my head - the 20D + 10-22 or a 5D with 17-40 / 24-70 that I already have. Already having the 10D, I had thought that full frame would work better for the landcape and perspective shots I like but that which I still shoot to film. Hmm!
Are you using a mimi-tripod for these or an improvised stand? The FOV seems excellent, normally a criticism of cropped digital images.
Also, it must be great have access to such wonderful beaches and skies.

Great beach landscape ,nice wide angle shot The water comes real far inland here. Nice sunny view too. Looks like the water dragged the trap through the sand inland.
