About	This is a monumental Art Deco structure - a confluence at once of inspired (if ecologically questionable) engineering and art. There's no denying man-made beauty here. This massive structure has held back the great power of the Colorado River for decades now, albeit with major damage downstream, especially at Baja California. Trade-offs in our modern world are very difficult to grapple with in terms of environmental versus economic imperatives in perpetual, inevitable conflict.

Yes Eric - an unintentional consequence of using Neat Image to get rid of the noise my early digital cam produced from its tiny CCD! They look like triffids hehe.

A marvel of engineering indeed. I once took a tour of Hoover Dam and would love to go back again one day now that I am older and can really appreciate it even more (not to mention the picture taking opportunites that are there). Great angle.
