Well...I might try that tomorrow. Although, if I don't understand I think my bf is pretty good at PS and I'll just steal him.

Hmmmm...not easily answered if you're unfamiliar with Photoshop. My suggestion would be to take a tutorial on PS. Once you're familiar with its capabilities, you'll find you can do almost anything in it...correct color balance and levels, paint, clone, convert, composite multiple images, you name it. It's well worth the time it would take to learn it, Ashley...a little daunting at first, but learn a little each day and soon you'll be a PS wizard.

Meanwhile to answer some of your questions: layering is like working with multiple layers of transparent onionskin...PS allows you to work on different elements of an image in separate layers, flattening them into one layer when you're finished.

Duo-tri-quadtones are color processing filters you can apply to grayscale images. When you see a black & white image that appears brownish or yellowish, etc., it's most likely a duo, tri or quadtone. Duotone = two hues, black and one other. Tritone = three hues; quadtone = four hues.

As to how you would erase the rest of the image (all but the flowers), there are always several ways to do things in PS. One would be to add the color file as a layer to the baseline black & white; then either erase by hand using the erase tool(tedious and often messy) or do so using paths. Next to impossible to explain this process unless you have a working knowledge of PS. Once you become adept in working with PS, you'll find methods that work best for you.

Uh...what? What's layering? What's duo-quadtone? Guh. And how do I strip the colour except for the flowers?

Easily done with PS, Ashley...if the original was in color, layer it in over the b&w, stripping away all of the color image except the flowers. If the original was b&w, you can duo-quadtone or paint the flowers, again using layers.

Comunque a me piace davvero molto..
