Anthony -
...and the obsession may not be temporary... it just gets more refined I suppose as you evolve your style. Some of us go completely nutty (good), some of us out here in PS land are somewhat sneaky (me).

Suuuurrrppize... I have a D70. Take a look at my portfolio, what I would call a heavy use of PS, but with a light touch... subtle enhancements here and there can really bring out a photograph.

Thank you Michael - most helpful comments with which I completely agree. You know, straight off-camera the Nikon D70's images look flat, insipid even. I have learned that this was deliberate on Nikon's part in order to offer more latitude in post-processing. However, being a newbie to digital SLR's and PS, it causes me to be over-react and become disproportionately unconservative in an effort to get "punch" out of the apparently lifeless image. I hope this is a temporary obsession!
Many thanks again,
Anthony

Not a lot of comments on this one. That is too bad.
Good cropping, nice details, interesting tonality, this has character and I think would reflect the rest of the house. Nice shot.
The overhang and resulting shadow is a little tough to see through, but it has to be there since you can't get the details and wood grain to pop without afternoon side lighting...
Looks like you added some contrast in, probably PS levels, good dark and light points, but the grass gets a little harsh.
I'd love your thoughts on my simular photograph. So hard to judge these things. Think of it as the western counterpart.

Thank you Shereefa. The entire village of Deerfield is in an astonishing time-warp. It's like wandering around an English (UK hehe) village somewhere in Suffolk or Essex.
I shall look at yr pics.
