The debate over "manipulating" digital images is still raging but I know that I want my photos to be a "real" rendition of what I saw with my eye. It's not a problem really. Learning how to use the tools to achieve that goal is what will set you apart from the masses. I think you have the most important part covered... you "see" what others do not at first glance. Get my drift? You have the most important tool already in hand, ah yes, beauty and brains...a powerful combination. - Cheers, -mm

Peta, this is just amazing. You've done a superb job bringing out the true colour. Would love to see more!
Boy, I have GOT to get myself down to the South Island. What I'd give to lay my eyes on water like this!!
Cheers Rina

Mark thats so cool, it helps me justify using PS. I orginally felt like I was cheating, but that makes perfect sense hey.
Nice of you to say you think I'm best at landscapes...but you know what? I have a great camera, and when these gorgeous locations are infront of me how could I possibly stuff up? I think landscapes are pretty straight forward, anyone can do them. I have a portrait session in a studio this afternoon with another UF member...now thats not easy! thanks again for your comments mark :)

Love IT!!! I'm posting some Pix this week that show the same problem. I captured what I thought I saw on digital only to be reminded that It fell short of reality. I started using curves to compensate. The human eye can see many more variations in light than film or digital can capture. That's why we need tools like PS to help us reclaim what we know we saw!! Well done P. I think your talent is in landscapes!!! -mm

Looks nice, the green might be over the top, but it works for this scene. Actually, bot the original and Carstens crop both look excellent as well,

Gorgeous landscape ! What a beautiful place - and very good composition, yes, the foreground works IMO. What I thought of was an even more panoramic format.

Wonderful Colors and Spot on Composition. I bet that Water is Freezing...lol. I Love the inclusion of the foreground. At first I thought it was distracting. but the more I Looked at it. I decided that It has to be there or it would look bland. Congrats on this Beauty!
Best Regards
Sam

This is amazing Peta, totally confirms my second trip down south but with a camera! and yes this lake is well known for its milky turquoise hue from fine rock flour, dust ground by glacial movement. Beautiful composition, well done Reagrds :O)

Very nice color saturation, the color to the lake looks amazing. I like the weeds in the foreground to add depth, but I get a feeling it's just a bit distracting as well. Very beautiful landscape nevertheless, nice work!
