About This is the first of two contrasting macros. This one uses a lens designed for macro work with a shallow depth of focus. (The flowers are on the Japanese monkey puzzle tree, which is completely bare of bark and leaves in the winter, so that monkeys are supposed not to be able to get a proper grip.)
