Beautiful composition, Dave! I love the big open sky, you captured it so well in here! The sharpness of the straw and the golden color of the field are beautiful, and so are the clouds! Love the long afternoon shadows too. A wonderful prairie image. My best regards, Ina

Nice shot Dave,
One of the best times of the day to take this type of photo. Aren't these S5000's a great little camera? Considering they are not true DSLR's. Great bang for the buck. I will eventually get myself a D70 or D100 so I can use my Nikon mount lenses, but I've learned a lot using this little Fuji.

Very nice picture with good colors. I like the landscape very much. The horizon does seem to lean a little to the right.

I just finished commenting on a photo of Mary Brown featuring blue and white clouds. I think it is a beautiful combination but do not recall that combination as a common sight. Nicely captured. Perhaps the bale and shadow was your primary objective but my eyes were drawn to the clouds. Del.

Long shadows from the wonderful late sun light which is echoed in the clouds. Excellent sharp detail in the hay and stubble. I just love this image, Dave. Well done! Print it and hang it on the wall! Best wishes, Larry.

That lighting is really intense, but it did create a wonderful shadow, and beautiful color on the hay field. Wonderful scene and well taken Dave. Alison

I'm guessing morning light here, Dave. I know I've tried a similar shot in the evening and had no luck. Came out too dark. Am I right?
Mark

Hey, Dave, I have some hay pictures to put up soon, too. My hay bales are rectangular prisms, though, and not cyclinders like yours. I like the lioghting and your low camera position. In fact, I'd like to see it a tad lower still so that the hay bale breaks the horizon just a little. Nice cloud street (as the sailplaners say when they try to thermal their way cross country).
