About It was a moody day today but i thought i would do the best that i could with the way it all was.
The mountain in the distance on the right is Mount Unwin. Looks like it would be a great climb!

I missed out on this lake while I was there. I had seen lots of postcards & coffee table books on this one though. I mean this lake.
It was a moody day but I think that set it apart from all the photos I've seen.
A very memorable shot & you certainly did great with the balancing of lights (not that I know much about it but I do know a good pix from a bad one by looking, I hope!).
Again, this one will be in my memory for a long time to come! Thanks!!!

Great mood in this shot. I think I would burn back the grass behind the canoes, the green jumps out a bit.

Excellent.

Yes, the hint of red is probably the "icing on the cake" here ! All is perfect here, exposed for the highlights, ok, but tonal range and vivid colors are really outstanding ! Sky is awesome. Congrats !

Wonderful composition, Tim, and a remarkable reflection! I like the splash of brightness provided by the boathouse roof and overturned canoes.
Beautiful work!
Dave.

Your best is more than good enough! This series is becoming truly memorable. What a sky! The reds are the icing on the cake...

Hi Tim, the touch of red is what this picture needs. Nothing more, nothing less. The toning of the sky is exactly what I had in mind with my last comment...:)

Cheers,

Hugo

This one looks like one of your paintings Tim, this is so dramatic the way the clouds and their reflections suck you back into the photo and to the distant mountains. The red of the roof and boat covers also center the shot. Very beautiful. Alison

You have done a good job here Tim. This photo has a dramatique touch to it. The dark weather made this a stunning photo. I do not think that there is bad nor good weather to make a good photo.Your photo is the proof of this!

Great shot Tim. I would like to see this blown up to around 2 metres and hung on a wall.
Very nice.

Hi Susie,
I set my camera for the max DOF aperture possible in any given light, metering on the brightest area in my image so i have the least amount of over exposure possible, usually in the sky. Then i set the cam up for the best shutter speed possible for handheld...i hate tripods...i make sure to bracket most times in difficult situations such as this one and the rest is PS to ballence out the photo once it is in my computer. Mostly levels and hue / saturation settings...oh and some unsharp mask set @ 20%
