Very nice photo, you did make it look excellent in PS. He is sitting like like he is posing for a portrait.

Well I think they both look good, this one in need of a little contrast and the other one maybe a bit to much....but then who am I to say, the other won a prize !
I find that allot of my digital shots need a bit of contrast to take the flatness off.
None the less both are quality shots.
