Hi Ray...You know me..I love to look at your "street pictures" mostly to see what you saw. I see this man does have a few worldly possesions and seems to be really getting into them. Love that he has a bottle of what looks like water. Cool looking brick road and sidewalk and wall. I've been in small towns where the streets are brick lined and they are really old old streets. I always thought how interesting to make streets out of bricks and people still drive on them. Anyway Love Looking at your Street Pics!

Thanks, all, for your comments. I too wish I could have a little more at the top, Dave, but that's where the rest of Hong Kong starts (people, buildings, etc.). In such a crowded, busy place in the middle of Central, it's extremely unusual to see this much open clear space. Were they avoiding him or me? :-)

Sai, you are correct. I did misread your comment. I to are all for the lines.
I don't think Nan, edited her comment. I took her framing suggestion as doing away with the lines.

Love the lines. There is some loss of detail with the compression, am wondering what he is holding/looking at.

To Nan - At this time of year, the sun is low, even in HK. In the main (north)part of town we do not get direct early morning sun as it is shielded by the high-rise office and residential buildings and Victoria Peak.
To Mike - would like to have shot this on b.w film, but it's difficult to get it to fit into my digital Canon :-)
To Sai - Yes, the lines (to me) are what make the pic. Hence wasn't sure whether this should be in the "Abstract" or "People" category.
To you all - thanks for all your comments. That's what make's Usefilm! so great.

I really like b&w homeless shots. Next time try making the shot grainier (yes i said that)...Tri X shot at 400 to give it a early 70s National Geographic Feel.

Nan, I have to disagree with you, I think the lines make the whole picture. The lines and space to the left give the feeling of solitude.
I like it just the way it is. :-)
