Thanx Herman!
i agree with you n the first two points.. the third one "i guess i have to develop myself more in controling DOF!"
about the needed amount of light.. in the meanwhile time i'm not thinking of buying the flash ring i need to get use to the lens first.. However, yesterday i've been trying to trick my Camera buy increasing the ISO - it worked will with me! - have you ever try it?? i'll post what i took in a while..

Hi Alyazia,
congratulations with your macro lens! I am not a macro expert (in fact I am an absolute beginner in this area...) but maybe I have some useful tips:
- indeed a tripod is often not very useful, especially if your object is moving.
- autofocus usually does not work well, it is better to use manual focus. And fine-tuning the focus often works better by moving the camera back and forth instead of turning the focusing ring.
- the depth of field is very small for such short distance, therefore it is often necessary to use a very small aperture (f/22 or even smaller is quite common) to get a sufficiently large depth of field.
- Smaller aperture means less light, so a flash is convenient... A normal flash does not work well, it is better to use a special macro (ring) flash.
Hope this is helpful,
Hermen
