I hope he was gone because he was feeling better. He let you appraoch and hold him bacause he knows you're not a scary guy and knows a bird lover when he sees one. He looks a little disheveled. Great collur and detail.

Thanks for commenting. The unfortunate part about this picture is the bird was either sick or injured. Prior to this moment, I stopped to check on him in the middle of a dirt road, and he approached me, allowed himself to be petted/handled, and remianed where he was until I returned with food and water. Upon my return, he took this perch and was not anywhere to be found the next day.
