cOLIN, THIS rocks!
LOVE THE BOLD CENTERING of the cross. The cross is also bold. It goes well, and the sun behind, fantastic.
Yes, the misery of war, so sad mankind cannot just live in peace. Too bad 'leaders' take us there.
Good photograph, good interpretation, good insight.

I appreciate your remarks. I wanted to use an unusual angle for the memorial. With the sun setting, this photo was just crying out to be taken!

You should have a trip to flodden battlefield. It's much as it was in 1513 - but a lot quieter!
It's a tranquil area, and not well known.
I live in two places - wooler (near flodden) and gateshead. I alternate between the two, which gives me very different photo opportunities.
