I am copying all you help into a folder and will hope to have time to try it all out when it less busy. summer is a killer for me. to much family and yard work on top of the same old job and life.

What I meant is to get an even closer image. Most digital cameras have a macro setting where you can get as close as 1-2 inches away (like in my Patel Petals).
Large prints will acentuate any movement in an image so they should be shot using a tripod if possible. Take many shots at different settings to be sure you don't over expose or under expose. You can then composit multiple images to add depth and richness. It's all part of the learning process which is a great part of the fun to me.

these usally turn out better for me than the landscape ones. I wish I could get some good pointers on that as I want to print some in the 16x20 size.
