The photograph caught my eye because I love horses, but I took a closer look because of the contrasts. The foreground horse is sharp, dark and head-on to the viewer. The background horse is somewhat nebulous, light and is shown to the viewer from the side. Even the setting enhances the horses rather than detract from them. I would go so far as to say the ground under the horses feet symbolizes the rocks and sand in their "wild" state, like the horse trying to get away to it's "wild" state. The bricks are the rock and sand "tamed" made to serve man like the horse that is being held. It's a very interesting photograph in many aspects.
