Wonderful sunset, I love how it seems that these two trees have parted for the setting sun. Beautiful tones throughout. Alison

South Dakota Savana? I didn't know. :) That yellow reminds me of that. I could just see a lion over that horizon. Cool coloring Pat - very cool.

Nice wordy Comment Paul.. lol
Actuly this was a very bright scene with the sun just above the frame. I think I was at f/8 and 1/1000th. THe trees are a bit soft because of the back light like you say but also I didn't take much time with sharpening and noise reduction. My last two batches of chemistry had some nasty floaters in it. (not sure where they came from) So being to lazy to go in and hunt them down one at a time I just did a 4 pxcl noise reduction on it and then brushed the tress back in at 50%

Ok.. I always liked sunsets but this one is different especially the color. If I did not know where it was taken, I would think it was taken somewhere in Africa. The yellow tint is what gives it that unique feel as do the trees. Even though they are bit soft (due to the lighting) they add to the composition. Nicely captured, I imagine you did not use a tripod which makes it even more difficult in the low light setting...good work
