thanks for the interest steve, you are right about wanting to let it fade away to nothing by using a black frame.
i would be very interested to hear from others about which way they like it best.
I dont mind at all that you had a play with it and appreciate the effort.

Hi Shane - really like this picture a lot.

I think it is a very striking shot that would work well (because of the natural framing of darkness) as a book or cd cover or something. Very very nice work. Did you get wet taking it?

One thing though - I really think that the shot may benefit from a frame with greater contrast. the framing is sort of lost (which I realise is the intention) in the shadow. I feel this makes this image 'feel' a little unbalanced - since the eye tends to percieve a much greater amount of 'nothing' on the right.

I hope you don't mind - but I had a little experiment and I tidied some the cut edges and used a simple 2px wide white frame - see what you think...

the popup menu doesnt give the correct settings which were f3.5 and 1/45 sec.
lens was at 18mm, iso at 200
