Nah, Karl's neutered. Plus, we already have three cats and two dogs along with four people...so there's not much room left in our house. We like the boys, anyways. Girls can be kinda moody at times and aren't as loyal to their people. However, I'm hoping I can breed dachshunds when I retire.

Good Move. You don't want Karl to "get the blues" cause then he'll be spending hundreds on Blues Anthology CD box sets - can really run up a tab.........Why didn't you guys get a female so you could be a part time breeder and make some cash on the side? Bongo had one liter of 4 (they were all great - should have keep one) and they sold pretty high cause we weren't pros or anything - people liked that. They get away from that "puppy farm" fear / mentality. Anybody talking about my idea over there? Getting a female ?

Yes, I've been talking to a friend of my mother's that's a trainer, and she's been telling me all about the "pack mentality." She told me we should always greet Karl first, give Karl his food first, etc. because he's supposed to be the leader since he was here first. Karl can't stop sniffing the puppy! He gets Rudy all wet. It's funny. Def. making sure Karl knows I love him, though.

Alright, must admit "The Rud-ster's" quite cute. Karl sent me an E-mail that he's packing up all his stuff in a bandana with a little hobo stick and he's gonna hop a freight train (empty boxcar) down to here this weekend. He sounds kinda bummed out........I couldn't tell him no - you better talk to him....... Cute shot - can't wait to see which one dominates. With my 2 it's the female (Bongo). There's ALWAYS going to be the dominate one, even if there's only 2 - pack mentality with dogs....

What a happy day it is to bring home a new puppy. I'm so glad for all of you. Wish us luck in finding a new dog.
