Dror, I certainly hope that you didn't get the idea that I don't like this shot, that isn't the case. I think this is a very good shot, I was only pointing out a couple of things that I noticed.
I would like to change my comment about the contrast. When I wrote this I was using my laptop computer at work and apparantly, this isn't a very good monitor. I have since looked at it again on my home computer and it is much better than I origionally thought.
I like the mood and composition and the overall feel of the shot. As I said, you have a good eye for this shot.

Artistic merit: 7+++ The mood is fantastic, as is the composition and toning. I really like how the contrast is at a gradient and gets lower as the landscape recedes to the fishermen. Since they are such special details, they don't require as much to draw our attention, and the higher contrast in the foreground pulls our eyes back down -- so there is a circular path from the beautiful water to the rocks out to the fishermen and back-- a great compositional strength.

You have a good start on this. I see that the horizon is tilted down on the right-hand side, and the contrast appears to be off just a bit, as is the focus. All in all, I think that you have a pretty good eye for things. If the photo were fixed just a little, I think this would be a remarkable photo. David
