About I shot the majority in bw, but I also grabbed a dig. camera and shot a few color ones and later messed with them some. I used curves and played with the color balances some.

yea i personally go for the bw version also. i like the color here because it 'warms it up' and really gives it 'life', but i still think the bw pushes the light pattern more and in a more abstract sense. thanks for the comments.

Joao, thanks for the thoughtful comment. When I shot this series I did several without background and focussed more on the stairs, and I have personally found the ones with the background more interesting. With this jpeg version it is not quite as it should be, but I have thought the lines help the composition by leading the eye to the top and bottom stairs, where you follow the pattern down. I'll look through some of the others and try to post one pretty soon to see what people think though. Thanks for the good comment, much appreciated.

Hi Curtis,
I like shis shot very much. Terrific shadow play here. I like the fact that the shadow changes the perception of the step angles. The warm tone works well too. There is one thing that was a bit distracting to me, the background. Maybe if you used a wider aperture to reduce DOP or simply blurr it a bit in PS. Nice job.
