no not quite, but if you can print b&w, color isn;t too much different, and actually, the processing is much quicker, 30 min for b&w (or more since i often use double weight fiber based) vs. 7-10 for a color print ( done in a roller drum, I'd like to use a machine to process but no such luck at my school).
A color dark room I should say, It's smaller, you are alone and it is pitch black while you expose the paper. No safe lights, no friends. The color rooms we have are about 7 feet by 7 feet. but once you get the paper into a drum you can open a door, thankfully.
I've spent 10 hour days in my darkroom. I miss it. I miss the smell of Dektol, stop bath, and fixer, the sweet smell of Perma-Wash and brown fingernails. It's gone now. All I have is my dark bag, my developing tank, and Photoimpact 7. Maybe some day, once again. Thanks, really, for the memories.
